First class!

We chose Villa Top Gun for the winter semester because the pictures convinced us from the very first moment. We were not disappointed. The villa is in absolutely top condition and after a few days we realised its unique location. Securely guarded, with security guards at the entrance to the residential area, a stone's throw from Double 6 Beach via secret paths and just 5 minutes from the tourist area of Canggu. During our time in Bali we had many opportunities to look at other villas through our fellow students and I have to say, not a single one in the same price range comes close to our Top Gun!!!! The only flaw, and I have to agree with the review below me, are the kitchen cupboards which could really do with a good clean. Apart from that, I can only recommend everyone not to think for a second about renting Villa Top Gun. Just book it, you won't regret it!

Review Villa Beo (Gang Taman, Jalan Batubelig, Kerobokan) Sep-Dec 2014

The villa is made of wood, has a tin roof and consists of a terrace, veranda, wide hallway, large living room, three rooms with double bed and private bathroom and one room without both (single bed). From the kitchen there is access to a separate bathroom with shower and WC (no washbasin). In the living room there is a screen, DVD player and sound system, some of the speakers are broken. At €300 per room per month, the villa is not exactly cheap, but you can get to the beach (Pantai Batu Belig) quickly. There is a large garden, pavilion and pool, there are two other houses on the property and it is relatively quiet. The campus of the international study programmes is about 30-45 minutes away. We saw geckos in the villa from time to time, and termites and ants in the kitchen, but it wasn't too bad and was simply due to the climate. Some of the floorboards were rotten, many of the windows didn't work properly, but as it's so warm anyway, it's best to leave some windows open anyway. It was easy to climb in through a kitchen window from the outside, which was handy if you forgot your key, but of course didn't exactly protect the valuables in the flat. However, we never had anything stolen! Unfortunately, we had problems communicating with the management: the first two months we had such a slow internet connection that we could only just Skype. When several people were logged in (with three houses this happened) sometimes nothing worked at all. This was supposed to be fixed, but from about the second half of the semester we had no wifi at all (this assessment was made in a nearby café with excellent wifi). A new router was supposed to be installed, but at some point we actually took care of the internet ourselves (charging our mobile phones, switching on the hotspot, which was at our expense, 4€/2GB). Having a pool right in front of us is great, but the water should be clean. Because it was never in the shade, algae formed after a very short time and the pump hardly ever ran, which is why the pool kept turning into a pond. The water was often cloudy and the bottom slippery. This was usually remedied with chemicals. Towards the end of the semester, however, the water was clean again, probably because the pump was running more often. Although we kept writing emails, essentially nothing changed in terms of wifi, which we urgently needed for university. We enjoyed the semester at Villa Beo on the whole, but I am disappointed that for our money (which is an incredible amount by Bali standards) we got no wifi, no clean pool and only a minimally equipped kitchen. I hope for the sake of the future residents that this review will help to rectify the above and that they can enjoy their stay. PS: You must visit Batu-Belig Beach Berm

Satisfied all round

I found out about Asia Exchange through a friend. He had spent his semester abroad in Bali, but on a different programme. However, his friends were at Udayana University at the same time and took part in the BIPAS programme with Asia Exchange. They all had very positive things to say about the programme, which sparked my interest. The courses not only teach you about Indonesia and its culture, but also give you a multicultural perspective on tourism and business. Many people were delighted that there was a local contact person who looked after them. The exchange programme also has a lot to offer those who are not currently enrolled at a university and want to gain valuable experience between degrees.

villa chi

I stayed in this wonderful peacefully place for 2 months. villa chi is a beatiful villa that is submerged in peace and quiet, and located not far from the main road. the outdoor area is designed with great attention to detail and simply an oasis to relax in. the bedrooms and the shared areas are beautifully designed.

Exciting semester abroad

I studied architecture in Bali in April 2014 and would really recommend it to anyone. Here you learn how people deal architecturally with the high humidity and heavy rainfall, as well as other soft skills. I was particularly impressed by how buildings are constructed from completely natural materials and how they last. This was beautifully demonstrated in the bamboo workshop, for example. The excursions are sometimes very exciting, sometimes a little less so or sometimes even cancelled, which I thought was a shame. I also liked the fact that we even got breakfast at the university, which other study programmes don't have as far as I know.

Beautiful, new and clean villa!

I lived in the villa for four months with two other students and was very happy! The villa is very clean compared to other accommodation and you can close all the doors and windows tightly. Rooms: Are very spacious and equipped with good furniture. Each room even has its own bathroom with WC. Each room can also be locked separately. Location: The location is good, you can get to the city and the beaches quickly. It takes about half an hour to get to Jimbaran University, and we usually travelled to the beaches in the south after university. No problem with a scooter! Kitchen / living room Well-equipped kitchen by Indonesian standards! Large and cosy living room The contact via the semester abroad was always very good, if there were any problems, these were quickly resolved. The deposit was also transferred back very quickly and without any problems! I can definitely recommend the house and Auslandssemester-Bali.de.

Unbelievable !

I left a piece of my heart in Bali. My semester abroad on this dream island was simply indescribably wonderful. The country is beautiful, the people super friendly and helpful and the study programme was very varied. I have never lived, loved and studied in such a carefree way. I can recommend it to everyone, you won't regret it :)

Villa Rajawali - a dream

Together with Lena and Marina, I lived in Batch 31 at Villa Rajawali in the summer semester of 2014. The complex really is a dream, large and beautiful. With the small pond with the iguana at the front behind the entrance, you can recognise the real Bali. The spacious "car park" is also great for all the residents' scooters. Rico, the security guard, has a small house with his wife next to the car park. The price-performance ratio is really first class, there are more luxurious and "nicer" villas in Umalas, but for the price the villa is really unbeatable! It's also great that everyone has an adjoining bathroom. Most of the rooms are large and equipped with a fridge and air conditioning. Rico, the good soul of the house, is always on hand if anything needs fixing - and his pancakes are really good :-) Next door is the super tasty Café Canggu, where you can eat really well! Smaller parties are also tolerated by Rico & the neighbours!

Super accommodation

I chose this accommodation because of the great price, and I never regretted it until the end, first and foremost it depends on the room, I got a relatively large one and without a lie I didn't have a single cockroach in the 3.5 months. Osiana the manager helps you with all kinds of problems and is especially helpful on the phone if you don't speak Indonesian. I felt safe the whole time thanks to the cameras and security. there's a shop right at the front, ATM and you can always get something to eat at Made opposite. had extremely cool people in the accommodation! but also space to retreat as you could always go to your room. all in all, I can only recommend it! :)

Positive and negative

All in all, great value for money. There's always something going on and you meet lots of people, especially Udayana students. The distance to the university is sometimes annoying, but it's all the closer to Kuta, Seminyak and the 707 at Batubelig ;)

The right choice with Studies Network

The decision to spend a semester at a foreign university was more or less based on my degree programme, which has a very international focus. The choice fell on Bali and the application process followed promptly, which ran via Studies Network and was kept really simple and easy to understand - with just a few clicks and "tips", so to speak. As the application process progressed, the semester abroad drew ever closer and I kept reading various reports on the internet about the university, country, people, culture, ... All in all, I would do everything exactly the same way again and I am glad that I decided to study with IBSN in Bali - an incredible enrichment for my whole life!

My motivation to study in Bali

? First and foremost, of course, everyone has the image of summer, sun, beach and sea in their head. Who wouldn't want to spend a semester abroad in such an environment? But above all, it's about getting to know a completely new and foreign culture and broadening your own horizons enormously. The application process via the IBSN Studies Network is very easy - if you know what you want, you can achieve your goal very quickly in just a few steps. Once I had been accepted, the first thing I did was consult all kinds of travel books to prepare myself and scour the internet for the best tips and tricks. In conclusion, I can only recommend a semester abroad in Bali to everyone. Not only did I learn a lot for my studies, I also learnt a lot for life and brought unforgettable experiences back to Germany.

The best decision of my life

I love travelling and getting to know other cultures, traditions and people. Especially Indonesia in the heart of Southeast Asia with all its islands attracted me. As a student you have a much better chance to get to know the Asian culture and life here, so I got the desire to do my semester abroad here. IBSN immediately came to the rescue. The simply structured website and the nice phone calls helped me to realise my wish quickly, as I was a bit late. IBSN sent me all the documents I needed, told me when I had to do what and took a lot of the paperwork off my hands. They also gave me great tips when I was looking for accommodation on site. Thanks to their many years of experience, IBSN are also familiar with many possible problems regarding insurance and student grants and were thankfully able to help me with my uncertainties. I am really grateful to IBSN for their help and everything worked out in the end.

The slightly different life

Several friends of mine have also studied in Bali in recent years. They recommended IBSN to me. The application process was easy and quick. Life in Bali is very different from life in Germany. Outside of the rainy season, the weather is super sunny, the beaches are just around the corner and there is a surfer atmosphere. However, you also have to put up with a poor internet connection, rubbish problems and catastrophic traffic conditions. All in all, I really enjoyed my semester abroad with the help of ISBN and I would like to stay in Asia even longer to continue travelling. I'm sure I'll return to Indonesia and Bali again at some point.

LV Villa

Absolutely recommendable! Super nice villa in an absolute top location. The staff are very attentive and the villa is in a really clean and well-kept condition. Compared to other villas, the room layout is absolutely fair. All 6 rooms are almost identical - except for the kitchenette. Booking & payment via Semester Abroad Bali went smoothly. All in all, one of the best student villas here in Bali.

LV Villa - Legian Living House

I have spent the last 4 months here and have absolutely nothing negative to say about the villa. Eight of us lived here in 6 rooms, 4 rooms had a super large bathroom with shower/bathtub and 2 rooms had a shower and a kitchenette. Everyone had their own little apartment and we didn't disturb each other. The pool and garden are beautiful and offer plenty of space. The staff are really super nice, someone is there around the clock, the room is cleaned every day, and bed linen and towels are changed on request. The location of the villa is also perfect - it takes a maximum of 5 minutes by scooter to Double Six Beach, 10-15 minutes to Kuta and 20-30 minutes to the university in Jimbaran. The night market in Seminyak (Jl. Nakula) is a 3-minute walk away, as are various supermarkets, restaurants/warungs and a fitness studio (Hammerhead). All in all, it was a wonderful 4 months in Bali with perfect accommodation!

Top Gun - Home Run!

Would return at any time. The location is perfect, Uma Sari is a nice residential area and with the scooter you are within 15 minutes at all important surf spots in Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu and surroundings. Culinary delights are also in good hands here, whether Pit Stop, Nooks, Livingstone, Ma'Em or Sirenetta, all highly recommended! The friendly housekeeper Made comes almost every day (except Sundays) to do the cleaning. Unfortunately the wifi is very unreliable and only works on the ground floor. The kitchen cupboards are a bit dilapidated and could be renewed but that's complaining on a high level! Otherwise it was the best decision to choose Top Gun! Highly recommended!

Super Villa!

I spent 4 months at Villa Rajawali and can definitely recommend it. As the villa is very large and we lived there with 10 people, it was never boring, but you could also withdraw from time to time. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine. Of course, there are rooms that are a bit bigger and some that are less. But I would have felt comfortable in any of the 10 rooms. I haven't seen a comparable villa in 4 months and the parties were unforgettable. Unfortunately, these are no longer permitted. The villa is a little more remote than others and you have to do a lot by scooter, but that wasn't a problem after a while. Restaurants, the beach and shopping facilities are close by and easy to reach. You should plan 40-50 minutes to the university in Jimbaran. I had an unforgettable time there and would move there again at any time :)

I can only agree with the 2 previous speakers. The feeling in the villa is indescribable and simply incomparable with the other villas. It could do with a bit of renovation here and there, but on the whole it has everything you need at a great price. If I had to choose again, I would choose Villa Rajawali again!

TOP VILLA

I and 13 other people stayed in the villa from March-July 2014 and were very satisfied on average. The villa is excellent value for money. For the money we paid, I have not found a comparably good villa in Bali in a while. The villa is not luxurious, but it simply has a lot of character. It wasn't important to us to live in a fancy villa, we wanted the "Bali style" (lots of plants, water,..) The perfect thing about the villa is its size. We stayed there with 14 people and it worked really well. The rooms are a bit smaller, but the villa has a super large outdoor area (it's much nicer to meet up with everyone outside than to sit in your room anyway). In addition to all the positive things, it has to be said that we had booked the villa as a party villa and unfortunately weren't allowed to have a single party, as the semesters before us were probably already in full swing.
