Villa Beo

Villa Beo is one of the traditional student villas. For many years, students have spent the best times of their lives here. The villa comprises four air-conditioned bedrooms and four bathrooms. Three rooms have a double bed with an en-suite bathroom; the fourth room, at the top right, has a single bed and no en-suite bathroom. This is located downstairs next to the kitchen. The bathroom is also fitted with a shower and toilet. The living room and kitchen are on the ground floor. In front of the entrance is a small terrace with a sofa; on the upper floor there is a balcony with further seating and a view of the pool. The terrace downstairs is often used as a meeting place.

The villa is incredibly cosy; almost everything is made of wood. It’s in a great location, as you can walk to the beach, but you’re also just a few minutes’ walk from Sunset Road. Compared to many other villas, the garden is very spacious – they certainly didn’t skimp on the green spaces here. It’s a five-minute walk to the Batubelig Beach. The beach isn’t too touristy, but there are still a few beach vendors here and the best – and still the most affordable – warung right on the beach: Warung Pantai. You can walk to numerous restaurants and affordable warungs on Jalan Batubelig. The best-known of these are Warung Sobat, Slippery Stone and Watercress. There’s a 24-hour supermarket every few hundred metres. That means you’ll never run out of beer in the evenings and you can always get something to eat. Another highlight on the street is Pit-Stop (24-hour burgers). If you’ve had enough of Kuta after a few weeks, you’ll find the better clubs nearby, such as KuDeTa, Potato Head and a few others.

Bottom line: The location is brilliant; you really do have everything you could possibly need for 4–5 months right on your doorstep.
