Studying in Bali was the best decision of my life so far. The lecture programme was suitable and the assessment of the exams was also very fair. In terms of organisation, not everything can be compared with Germany, but you can accept that. In the end, Studiesnetwork and Professor Passon looked after the students very well. In addition to the study programme (3 days per week) and the excursions (1 day per week), there is enough time to explore Bali and the surrounding islands. I can only recommend a semester abroad with Studiesnetwork to everyone! Have fun!

Luca Lak who do you think you are with your rating!!! As soon as I saw your review, I knew you must be from the fucking Master's :rofl:. If you're such a model student why didn't you go to London or Oxford university you no-good. We all went there for a holiday and not much university. Did you think you were going to do your PhD at BALI or something :joy::joy::rofl:
Diverse
On the whole, studying in Bali with IBSN was a great experience. We had lectures 3 times a week and excursions once a week. There's actually nothing to complain about except for the excursions, which were not well organised in my opinion. Everything else was good. There is a dress code that you quickly get used to and compulsory attendance. In contrast to Germany, the requirements were higher but feasible and relaxed (enough time for everything else). Prof Dr Passon was/is also a good contact person and helps with suggestions or questions.
Improvable but the best decision!
I had an unforgettable time in Bali with ISBN. Even though it was a bit difficult and exhausting in terms of organisation, ISBN made sure that we all enjoyed our time in Bali and made new friends for life. Any time again! Thank you ISBN!
Best experience of my life!
Please go and study on BALI, especially the IBSN programme. You will have no regrets, I promise!
Bad performance and worst organisation
-Unreasonable costs -Tuition fees too high for the service -Profs can't speak English -Secretariat is disorganised and incompetent -Study programmes are not taken seriously by professors -Profs come too late or not at all -You feel like you're being taken for a ride because the whole study programme is a facade -Unnecessary excursions +Lots of free time for travelling +Studying in Bali -No learning content that is taught
Chaos
Where to start? The organisation goes haywire! Events and lectures are cancelled at the last minute or even announced (!) -> e.g. Thursday morning excursion is announced on Wednesday evening. At the opening events you are asked to take your studies seriously, but how is that supposed to be possible? In the first lessons it becomes clear that professors either don't know English or don't feel like teaching. Arbitrary (poor) grades put the icing on the cake. Positive: One subject was actually interesting & the professor made an effort & could even speak English really well. You also have a lot of time to travel. The campus is fine & there is AC in the rooms.
Rather holiday semester
Campus is nice, air conditioning available in the cash registers, but no wifi in the university for students: This should be introduced in the future! You don't get any information or help from the secretariat! Instead, you are made up. There are professors who make an effort and other professors don't feel like it and show it. I have no idea where the student fees go... But you have a lot of free time and don't have to learn anything.
Choose another organisation!
The programme was very disorganised right from the start. Every week you don't know which subjects are taking place or not. Prof Dr Passon himself has no idea and is never available to answer questions. No emails are answered. We paid an extra EUR 100 but didn't get a receipt for the Bafög office. We don't get any certificates, only for an extra charge. There was hardly any communication. The professors could hardly speak English. Many excursions or events had hardly any added value. If you want to explore Bali, you have to do it on your own.
Price-performance not justified
The villa is very outdated, especially the "supposed" kitchen and the furniture in the room. An absolute cheek for this price. From the beginning I had a strong odour in my room, which was not completely remedied until the end of my stay. The owner is very nice and always tries to help, but it just doesn't justify the price.
Mediocre experience - 4 months in Bali is great, but not for studying
The registration process went smoothly and the welcome events were also well organised. However, the daily university routine was less well organised. A lot of modules were cancelled and communication left a lot to be desired. At the beginning of the semester, the excursions were very interesting, but this has now diminished considerably. The idea of the empowerment teams is generally good, but the implementation is less so. There is no control over whether the respective teams organise something or not. The knowledge transfer is also very poor.
This programme is not recommended
Through my studies I had the opportunity to live in Bali for 4 months. It was a unique experience. However, I would not repeat it with this programme (IBSN). Unfortunately, it was very disorganised and if you come to Bali with the aim of at least learning something, this programme was largely unable to help you achieve this. Some of the lecturers and secretarial staff spoke very little English, which made communication difficult. Other lecturers tried very hard. Nevertheless, the content did not do justice to a German Master's level
Not to be recommended
The organisation is rather disorganised. Both the professors and various other members of staff have made it clear that they do not take the courses seriously. As a result, there are sometimes considerable problems with the home university afterwards: documents are out of date, the exams are not nearly at the same high level, some of the courses have completely different names to those listed on the homepage, etc.
Had a great time here
The villa is in a quiet location, from the terrace you have a great view of the sunset every evening. Many beaches are within a 1/4 hour scooter ride, as is the university. The villa is large, the downstairs + the connecting room have their own bathrooms, the other two share one. The kitchens are well equipped. Gustavo, the landlord, is very friendly and helpful, we were in regular contact. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my time here and can recommend the accommodation to others.
Would stay here again
The villa is very spacious, well equipped and a place to feel at home. Special highlights are the large terrace, outdoor kitchen and pool. The landlord of the villa was always available to help and advise us, even when he was not on site. Thanks to the good location, the university and various beaches were just a few minutes away by scooter. I can highly recommend the villa and would stay here again at any time.
Would live here again and again
The stay in the villa was really great. Gustavo, the owner, welcomed us and was always there for us. Even when he was no longer in Bali, we could always contact him. He made the first few days in particular much easier for us as he showed us around and organised a lot (e.g. mopeds). We were really lucky that he had the time to make our start in Bali so much easier. Thank you very much, Gus! Whilst we were in the villa, we were given an outdoor shower and our housekeeper Iluh was always on hand to help. We only used the upstairs outdoor kitchen, which was exceptional with this sea view. An all-round recommendable accommodation; however, if you don't want to drive a moped yourself, it is a little difficult to reach.
Best Villa in Jimbaran
The villa offers comfortable and cosy accommodation for 10 students. We all felt at home with enough space and some luxury. The rooms were well equipped and very cosy. The only drawback was the slow wifi. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The location is very good, right on Sunset Road and next to lots of places to eat. The villa is only 5 minutes away from the university, great for late risers or if university is cancelled at short notice.
would stay here again
Proximity to university is great. Cost of living is cheaper in Jimbaran than in Seminyak/Kerobokan. Kitchen could be cleaner. Rooms are great. Felt at home in 2.5 months.
definitely recommendable
It was the best decision to have lived in this accommodation during the semester abroad. Both the staff and the facility itself are very satisfactory: one star is only deducted because of the poor Wi-Fi connection.
Almost perfect
The villa offers many opportunities to relax. You feel very comfortable. The rooms are large and the bathroom has plenty of storage space. It's almost 5 stars. One thing I found a bit annoying was that the staff also live here and didn't keep the kitchen clean. As a result, we hardly used the kitchen at all.
"The time of my life"
Very nice people, sometimes a bit disorganised, but that doesn't matter because it was fun here and we all had a great semester!
Best experience of my life
The programme itself was great! The teachers were great, especially learning Indonesian was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, there were often organisational problems because schoolwork or assignments disappeared in the office. But apart from that it was a great experience and everyone was very polite to us.
Best experience of my life
The people at Udayana were very friendly and the lecturers were nice. However, there is one point that could be improved: the organisation. I wrote an exam and my documents got lost in the secretary's office... I wasn't the only one to experience this.
Great experience
Everything went smoothly, content was made available online. Sometimes there were problems due to cancelled lessons, as this was not announced we travelled to the university for nothing. Organisational aspects could be improved.
