Villa Beo

- Close to the beach and important shops/good restaurants - Friendly neighbours - Good service - Feeling of safety - I would share it with 3 instead of 5 other people the next time, but recommend it

Always something going on!

The girls before me have already said that the price performance (well, a bit more than you would get in Germany for the money, such as the pool;)), room size is okay, everything you need is there. Unfortunately there is no kitchen in the room but you don't really need one. We didn't really miss it. Of course there are much nicer villas in Bali, but I wouldn't have swapped. There's always something going on at Bagus, there's always someone to do something with. You get to know a lot of people pretty quickly. What's more, we Bagus residents were spared all the stress that so many villa residents had. The location is also great, you can get everywhere quickly. I had to go to the faculty in Denpasar and it's about 15 minutes away by scooter (you can also get one in Bagus if you want). I would definitely do it again! :)

Legian Living House (LV Villa)

I lived there for 4 months and am very satisfied. Everything is clean and the staff take good care of everything. You don't have to worry about your belongings (laptop, mobile phone, money). Many friends of mine who have stayed in other villas have been robbed by the staff!

Nice little house with good location

Villa Nineteen is more of a nice cottage than a villa compared to other villas in Bali. Nevertheless, it is very nicely furnished and well maintained. There are three larger and two smaller bedrooms with comfortable beds. Both the pool and the house are cleaned regularly and reliably. Unfortunately, there are no sun loungers by the pool and on the terrace for relaxation and the view is not as breathtaking as in the pictures. Nevertheless, I can recommend this accommodation as the location in Seminyak is ideal for getting to university or Kuta.

Value for money;)

Bagus is a great place to stay for anyone who wants good accommodation for little money. However, you should also have a reasonable idea of what you can get for ~200 euros. The small flats are adequately equipped for 4 months (huge bed, AC, sofa, wardrobe, table, simple bathroom and simple "kitchen") and are relatively central. The staff will help you with any questions and there is a pleasant atmosphere. The beach is 10-15 minutes away (by scooter) and the architecture faculty is 15 minutes away (by scooter). When I lived there, the whole residence was fully booked by students. So fun is pre-programmed;)

Great Residence

Bagus Jaya Residence offers everything you need and more. The rooms are tidy and nicely furnished, there is a pool and several nice places to stay. It was particularly nice that there was always someone to do something with, including international guests. Made the house mum cooks every day also desired dishes at all times and the prices are also top. It is also good that there is always someone in the office to take care of things like scooters etc. and to help you. Great people, nice rooms, good connections and super catering...

Villa White Night

A super nice villa for 3 people. Problems were always solved relatively quickly. Negatives: There were often small things that had to be fixed, such as small defects in the sanitary facilities, burst pipes, etc. Otherwise everything was great. Otherwise everything was great, => thumbs up ;)

It is a super villa. I lived there four months and it was a dream. Great location, great villa, nice owner ... what more could you want?

Naja

We threw a party after which the water in the pool had to be changed. We apologised and told Osiana (the manager) that we would pay for the damage. 2 days later we were all woken up in the morning and summoned to the office. There sat Osiana, a "pool mechanic", a representative of the owner and another man who was introduced to us as a police officer. He took photos of us all and Osiana started filming us at some point. Then we were told that we either had to pay 7.5 million or we would be taken to the police the next morning. We were told to pay for the pool machine, but it was already broken before the party. After a long discussion, we paid 600k for the cleaning, which we wanted to do from the start, and it turned out that the police officer wasn't actually a police officer. The way we were treated after 2 months without any problems was not good at all.

A unique experience

I am currently on exchange in Bali and I can already say that I wouldn't swap this experience for anything in the world. I am having the best time of my life here! Thanks to the Asia Exchange team for making my semester abroad possible!

Do it!

Hello! Compared to traditional study abroad destinations, a semester in Bali offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a new culture for a limited period of time and have the best time of your life on a beautiful island with unlimited possibilities to spend your free time in a meaningful and meaningless way. The big plus point: Indonesia is ridiculously cheap and enables a lifestyle that you won't be able to finance any time soon! What's the catch? There is none! Because even the planning, preparation and application are far simpler and less bureaucratic than at any other host university...those who apply via Asia Exchange only have to submit a few easy-to-obtain documents, receive their confirmation of admission in a very short time and also have reliable local contacts throughout the semester!

Good, with some downsides

I stayed here for 1 month, and lived next door 5 months. The place is at a central location; not as close to the beach as some might prefer. The nearest beach will cost you about 10 minutes by motorbike, and 15 to 20-25 minutes to famous Double Six Beach and Kuta Beach respectively. Also, close to the hip Seminyak area with all its hotspots; lovely! The appartment complex itself ; you will mainly be staying with other Germans, about 70%, and some other students/tourists/expats from anywhere across the world. Good vibe, very sweet if you want to have a strong social group and support. Security, cleaning services and management are all good and really helpful. Rooms are fine, with 2 different styles. However, depending on the room there are difficulties with moist and mould in/on the walls; unhealthy. This is the reason why I left my room after the first month. Others didnt experience the same in their rooms. Good place if you have a mould free room and want many people around.

study abroad in Bali

I stayed in this villa with 5 other persons for one semester at the Udayana University. The villa is really nice, it offers enough space. It is okay to stay with 6 persons but within a few weeks you wish to have more space in your room. So you should think about it twice if you want to share a room for such a long time. The rooms are clean and offer enough space for all your clothes and other stuff. There are two other villas in the neighbourhood, one is rented to other students. There is one pool which is shared with the others houses. It is cleaned every now and then, so you can go there for a swim without problems. :) All in all I would recommend the villa because it has everything you need and it is close to the beach.

Bali a fantastic Asian adventure :)

Bali is a fantastic destination for your semester abroad. It's simply wonderful on a budget and the culture and diversity of Indonesia is just great. Asia Exchange in particular gives you a deep insight into the culture and the organisation of Asia Exchange is, in my opinion, the best compared to other exchange programmes. In addition, Asia Exchange not only teaches you to speak Indonesian as a language, but you can also improve your English, as the programme consists mainly of international fellow students. Personally, I can highly recommend Bali and Asia Exchange as an exchange partner and would do it again at any time.

Thumbs up :)

Good location, about 15 minutes by scooter to the university in Denpasar and about 35 minutes to Jimbaran. Nice staff, you always get help with any questions and problems. There is a small but well-stocked supermarket right on the corner of the driveway - very convenient. Directly opposite there is a very nice neighbour who cooks fresh and delicious food for little money. All in all, you can really feel at home in the Bagus Jaya Residence. Not a luxury, but perfectly adequate. I would come back again. :)

Location and price are right here!

I lived in Villa Batubelig in the summer semester of 2014. The location is great, there are several supermarkets and restaurants nearby. A real insider tip is the Warung Murah on Lio Square, but the Warung Sobat is also recommended. It was cleaned regularly. The cleaning lady Wayan is super nice, especially if you tip her ;-) Wifi is available in all rooms and the pool is ideal for a pool party. All in all, I can recommend the villa without hesitation. Go for it!

A great semester in Bali

The exchange in Bali was a fantastic 6 months in its entirety, where I was able to travel a lot alongside my studies and make new friends with students from all over the world. I feel that I have returned with a positive attitude and a changed person. Most of the courses were surprisingly good, but some were not quite up to the quality of my home university. On the whole, studying there also brought me many other benefits. I really appreciate how much attention Asia Exchange pays to the students and how the organisation feels responsible for everyone.

Roman and Maria

We lived in this villa for 2 months in spring 2014. Pros: The villa is very nice and clean. The landlady Vony understands you most of the time - we were able to communicate perfectly via SMS (then she looks up difficult words in a dictionary ;-) ) and is very nice. In contrast to others, we had little pressure to pay the full rent, errors and faults (light bulb, pool pump,.) were usually rectified on the same day and she is happy to invite you for a coffee. Cleaning staff came about every other day and a pool man about every 2 weeks. You can also hire scooters and helmets from her at a fair price. The location was quite good for us. A quarter of an hour by scooter to Sanglah Hospital - where we worked, about 12 minutes to Batubelig beach and just under 20 minutes to Canggu beach in the north or Seminyak/Legian in the south. Kesambi itself is pretty untouristic! There are three supermarkets within walking distance (you can also buy a sim card and credit in front of Yoniko), various laundries and restaurants/warungs (such as Di Warung - directly opposite). The pool has sun from mid-morning until around half past two in the afternoon. Fittingly, at this time of day, the noodle man usually comes by with his little cart in front of the house and sells you "Bakso" for 50 cents a plate - then it's off to the beach. Small con: A little closer to a moderately busy road than the idyllic pictures suggest. Nevertheless, the noise is manageable, the biggest annoyance for us was the neighbourhood rooster ;-) To summarise, we liked the villa very, very much and would recommend it at any time. Little tips: The Tiara Gatzu supermarket is about 5 minutes (north) from the house. It is quite large and also sells fruit and vegetables. There is also a market on Jl Petitenget at the junction with Jl Raya Kerobokan. We travelled to Tanah Lot, Sanur, Jimbaran, Uluwatu and Nusa Dua by scooter. For other routes we travelled well with our driver Eka (Ekatours.com) at a fair price.

Full marks

The exchange in Bali is the best experience of my life! With the help of Asia Exchange, I was able to combine academics with unforgettable life experiences. The application process was quick and easy and all my questions were answered. I chose Udayana University as my exchange destination not only because of my field of study, but also because I was surprised how pleasant studying on a paradise island like this can be.

Bali in my heart

Last year I spent a semester abroad in Bali via Asia Exchange. Even while I was thinking about it, I had the feeling that I was planning something unique. Now, on my return to Germany, I can say that my semester abroad in Bali was truly the best experience of my life! Asia Exchange played a big part in the successful organisation of my semester abroad and if you are also interested in an international study abroad experience in Bali, Asia Exchange is the only sensible alternative. I would also like to thank Christian Eiermann, the administrator of this site, for his excellent service.

Fantastic experience

I can highly recommend Bali as a study destination and Asia Exchange as an organiser. When comparing Bali study abroad programmes with other providers, I noticed that Asia Exchange prioritises international diversity because my fellow students came from 10 different countries. Therefore, I not only had the opportunity to get to know Bali's culture, but also to learn from and exchange ideas with other students from different backgrounds. In other exchange programmes, the students usually only come from 1-2 countries (Germany or Norway) and in my opinion it doesn't make sense to travel to the other side of the world and then speak mainly German there.

Perfect!

If you are thinking about spending a semester abroad in Asia and are travelling as a freemover because your university does not have a suitable partner university, then I can only recommend Asia Exchange! Asia Exchange will help you reliably and quickly with all questions concerning your semester abroad and will ensure that you have a carefree and great time in Asia!
