Unforgettable time

I only rented a room in Bagus for two months at the beginning. In the end, however, I liked it so much that I lived there for my entire semester abroad. The reason for my decision was probably the great community life there. You get to know a lot of people and always find someone to do something with. The staff are also super nice and Osiana even organised a scooter for me after I came back from my round trip after my studies and was no longer living in Bagus. The location is also very good if you are studying at the university in Denpasar. The rooms themselves are large, but also have shortcomings. The cupboards smell strange and if you're unlucky a cockroach might appear. The outdoor area with pool and a really great gazebo makes up for it though. All in all, I had a great time at the Bagus and can only recommend it!

Splendid stay

The stay in this villa was definitely worth it. Here is a short list of the positive and negative aspects of the villa: Positive: - Extremely friendly house staff (some very poor English skills) - Not unnecessarily large rooms, they are all the perfect size - Beautiful garden - Good location (right next to a supermarket) - Many surrounding villas (no long walking/driving distances to other students from the semester) - Cleaning six times a week and a pool boy - Garden with sunbathing areas and gazebo Negatives: - Sun only until 2/15 pm in the garden, the rest of the time everything is unfortunately shady - English skills of the house staff - Very slow internet connection (often not even usable) - Relatively high price compared to the neighbouring villas - Many of the equaducts were broken All in all, we had a really great time in this villa! We never received any complaints from neighbours if we were too noisy and were very happy with the housekeeping staff. In addition, there was always plenty to do with various student colleagues, as the villas themselves were within walking distance. A really pleasant and satisfying stay.

Big great villa

Super spacious room layout. Sanitary facilities were not so nice. There were small defects here and there. But all in all a super nice villa where you have a lot of space for socialising. I would book again

The best decision

Living at Bagus was the best decision! The price-performance ratio is unrivalled. You quickly make new contacts with other students who also live there and have a really great time together. If you want to be on your own, you can retreat to your room, which is not very luxurious but perfectly fine. If you want to be in company, all you have to do is go outside your room door and you can join any group in planning your day/evening. Whether exploring a beach in the south, going out to eat or partying, there's never a dull moment at the Bagus. The staff there are very friendly, helpful and there for you immediately if you have a problem. The important spots, such as Double Six Beach, Legian Street for partying//shopping etc. are 15-20 minutes away. A supermarket, warungs, a laundry, mobile phone shops are also in the immediate vicinity (1-5min) I got to know many other students who lived in a 4- or 6-bed villa. These were of course much more luxurious than the Bagus, but they also had to pay at least twice as much. I can only recommend living in the Bagus to everyone, because the money you save can then be spent on travelling :)

A great experience

- Location: Bagus is in a very quiet side street, so you don't hear any traffic or other noise at night. Right next door there is delicious food, a supermarket, laundry, mobile phone shop, scooter repair shop, ... Everything is great. The hot spots in Seminyak and Kuta (Double Six Beach, shopping mall, restaurants, etc. are all 15-20 minutes away, so no problem. The Batch Coffee Lounge is only 10 minutes away, and that's the main thing ;) You have to go there! - Rooms: Yes, the rooms really aren't luxury. The facilities offer everything you need and you can have your room cleaned as often as you like. However, I had big problems with mould in my room. My furniture, walls and even the inside of my wardrobe and my clothes were mouldy. The only reason I stayed is because Bagus offers such a great community that makes up for everything else. - Residents and staff: The staff are all very nice and always really quick to help out if there's a problem. The residents make the Bagus that special place :)) We had a really good group and spent many evenings together, surfing, going on excursions together, film evenings, billiards, partying and so on... it never gets boring and you're never alone.

Appearances are deceptive

Villa Tjok looked like paradise in the photos. However, it became clear in the first few days that this appearance was deceptive. Negative: - the outdoor area is only affected by the sun in the morning due to the high walls --> the pool is permanently very cold and you are only in the shade and cannot sunbathe - the outdoor area is very narrow and there is hardly any space where you can sit together with your flatmates - the lower three rooms are very badly infested with mould. I was in one of these rooms and the wardrobe for my clothes was also so mouldy that all my clothes couldn't get rid of the smell. With constant ventilation and air conditioning, the air was reasonably clean. When you come back to your room from university at lunchtime, you get a mouldy feeling. - You have to pay extra for cleaning the bed linen and towels. - In our case, the condition of the villa was apparently not checked beforehand, we arrived and had non-functioning air conditioning, lots of cockroaches, broken safety boxes (...) - as the electricity is not included, there are additional costs here, which should not be underestimated depending on the frequency of use of the air conditioning, refrigerators etc.. If the electricity runs out during the night, all electrical appliances are automatically switched off until someone goes to buy a code in a supermarket and recharges the electricity. - If you like long showers, you will have to make do with cold water after about 5-10 minutes, as the hot water runs out after a certain time Positive: - Faults were rectified very quickly - Umalas is a very quiet and beautiful area from where you can reach the hotspots in Bali very quickly. Canggu, Seminyak and Kerobokan are neighbouring regions where you can do a lot and where most of the students are located. - The staff were very friendly, although Bondang, the caretaker for everything, doesn't speak English. - the rooms are very large, the bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is also very large. To summarise: If I were to be in Bali again, I would not choose Villa Tjok as my villa again as there were just too many points of contention. However, I would choose the Umalas region again, which I have a bit of a crush on.

Personal Top - Mould Flop

As the previous speakers have already said, the rooms are nice and big, with plenty of space and a very large bathroom. Unfortunately, we had a lot of problems and a handyman was there almost every week, although it has to be said that everything was always put right very quickly, but it's a shame that this didn't all happen before we moved in. The worst thing is the mould, especially in the rooms downstairs, if you are allergic or react strongly to mould, you should definitely not stay here. The best thing about the villa is the staff are always very friendly and helpful.

Quite nice to live in

The villa looks exactly as described in the video and pictures. The rooms are big enough for all the luggage. However, the cleaning could be a bit better. The floors are not mopped often and the bathrooms are not always completely clean.

I liked it a lot

The villa is very well located. It's about a 30 minute walk to the university, 10 minutes to the beach and about 20 minutes to Cauggu. The rooms are big enough and very nice. The pool is a bit small but ok. Negative point: there are no sunbeds. All in all, I liked the villa.

Jimbaran Luxury Residence

I was very happy with the accommodation. The only thing I would criticise is the slow internet connection.

Wishfully happy

My time here in Bali was simply outstanding! A great time also requires the right accommodation. The house is in a good location and the landlady is always available and helps you with every little thing. The organisation by the Semester Abroad Bali team is very good and you hardly have to worry about anything yourself. Thank you for the help and the pleasant time in Bali!

The price-performance ratio is unbeatable!

- Very informal, you never feel lonely here - clean (you decide when and how often to clean) - no one has to starve (substitute mum right in the bagus cooks for you from morning to night, supermarket and other warungs right next door) - Laundry right next door - A quiet place (little traffic, no tourists etc.) - Security (24-hour security & helpers in any emergency situation) - Leisure activities can be booked on site via the bagus - Fun Fun Fun - No luxury but absolutely recommendable. If you can do without gold-plated soap dispensers or marble floors and are satisfied with a "normal residence" where you get everything you need to live, this is the place for you

Top accommodation

I booked the Bagus Yaja residence for two months on recommendation. I have to say top value for money. It was very informal, clean and large, with a great pool area. We travelled around a lot by scooter and left our things in the Bagus, we felt so safe there. Would go there again anytime. Had the best time of my life there. As you can see, I fell head over heels in love with Bali and the crew of the Bagus made it even better for me by making me feel like a friend. So absolutely recommendable if you don't need luxury. I will definitely go back next year.

Super

I lived in a villa for the first month and then in the bagus for three months. My conclusion: living in the bagus is far better than any villa. The price advantage is probably obvious to everyone, but you get everything you need to live. Admittedly, villas offer much more luxury and hygiene. But for me everything was fine. The staff are super nice and courteous. The biggest advantage, however, is the community among the students. There's always something going on. All in all, great!

I would definitely stay here again!

Tunjug Asri Villa is a wonderful place to stay in Bali, especially if you want to stay a little longer. The staff is very nice and always helpful, the rooms are large and very clean. Security is also present 24 hours a day, so you feel very safe. If you want to party, the villa might be the wrong place, because it's not just students who live here. But I really liked it here and would be happy to come back again sometime.

Nice place to live

-friendly staff -very good service (rooms, pool and garden were always top) -Requests were accepted directly -good neighbourhood (many markets are nearby) -good security All in all it was a very cosy and nice stay, many thanks for the hospitality.

Gladly again!

The villa is great. The rooms are nice, the staff are very accommodating and always helpful and the pool is huge. The garden and pool area are great for meeting friends / flatmates. The whole complex including the rooms are very clean.

Liza H. · August 2017 · 🇩🇪for Fortune Apartment

I would live here again

The accommodation is very nice. The pool is great and much bigger compared to the other student accommodation. The staff is very friendly and they do their job well. The laundry service was great and always at the house very early. The rooms are nice and in good condition. However, you have to be very considerate of other guests, so student parties or other noisy activities in the evening are not possible. If you want to stay in a nice, friendly place without parties, this is the perfect solution for you. The villa is centrally located and it is easy to reach the beach or the university. Many discos etc. are also only a few minutes away.

Villa Tjok

Positives: 1. the location of Villa Tjok is really great. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the university by scooter, which is no problem at all. And within a few minutes you are in the lively neighbourhoods of Bali. 2. the pool is also great and is cleaned several times a week, as are the rooms. 3. each room has its own large and spacious bathroom where you want for nothing 4. very large, bright rooms with a large and cosy bed. The rooms themselves were fitted with new air conditioning after or during our stay. Negatives: - Unfortunately there is no large lounge area for everyone - The cleaning of towels and bed linen is done regularly, but the residents have to pay for the cleaning themselves
