Studying in Bali - what you need to know

Bali is not only a travel destination, but also a growing study destination. Several universities offer English-language programmes and many German universities recognise credits via ECTS or Learning Agreements.

What matters
Universities
The main options are Udayana University in Denpasar and private universities such as Universitas Pendidikan Nasional. English language Bachelor and Master tracks are available.
Acknowledgement
Clarify with your home university in advance which courses will be recognised. A learning agreement before you start will save you a lot of stress later on.
Semester times
The Indonesian semester usually starts in September or February. Plan about 3-6 months in advance for visa, registration and accommodation.
Cost
Tuition fees are favourable compared to Australia or the USA. Living costs are moderate - a villa for a semester is often cheaper than a room in a shared flat in Munich.
