Everyday life
Life in Bali - everyday life beyond university
Scooter, visa, food, community. What to expect when you live on the island for a few months.
A semester in Bali is more than just lectures. You'll get used to scooter traffic, a warm climate and a very international community - that's the fun part. But there are also a few practical things you should know beforehand.
What you need in everyday life
Scooter instead of car
The standard on Bali is the scooter. International driving licences are compulsory - as is wearing a helmet. Rent from approx. 1 million IDR per month.
Food & Drink
Warungs (local restaurants) are cheap and really good. International restaurants are available in every student hotspot. Only drink filtered tap water.
Internet & Coworking
Fibre internet in most villas, plus countless coworking spaces. Daydreams, Tropical Nomad, Outpost - you'll always find a place to work.
Health
International health insurance is compulsory. In an emergency: BIMC or Siloam Hospitals have international standards. Don't forget your first-aid kit.
