Nyepi Day

Although you might have heard it already we want to inform you about Nyepi:
We’d like to inform you that on March 28th, 2017 there will be a celebration, called “Nyepi” or “Silence Day” to welcome the Balinese New Year.
In regards to this celebration Balinese people are strictly prohibited to conduct the following activities:

  • Amati Geni: No fire or light (no use of electricity)
  • Amati Karya: No working
  • Amati Lelunganan: No travelling
  • Amati Lelanguan: Fasting and no self-entertainment/amusement

These rituals are for Balinese but everyone is requested to respect and obey the above matters during that event.
This holiday celebration will be held 24 hours start from 6 am till tomorrow and the normal activities would back on. As Nyepi is a very special day for the Balinese Hindu. Your participation, tolerance and deep understanding is greatly appreciated. For complete info regarding Nyepi Day, please visit Wikipedia.
For those how who can’t stand this silence we recommend to leave Bali and stay 2 nights on Gili Island or Nusa Lembongan. You will recognise that you will not be the only one who has this thought ;-).
