I rented a room for two months in bagus at the beginning. In the end I liked it so much, that i stayed there for my whole study abroad semester. The reason probably was the nice community feeling over there. You get to know a lot of nice people and there is always someone you can to something with. The staff is also very nice and Osiana was organizing a scooter for me, after I did a roundtrip when i finished my studies and did not live in bagus anymore. Furthermore the location is very nice, if you study in Denpasar area. The rooms itself are big, but there are some deficites. The closets do smell and if you re not lucky there are cockroaches from time to time. There is a pool in the outside area and a really cool glazebo, which does compensate the deficites. All in all i had a really great time in bagus and can highly recommend it!

In the beginning my room in the Bagus was only rented for two months. In the end I liked it so much that I stayed my whole semester there. The reason for that was the amazing community life there. You get to know so many people and there is always something to do. The staff is super friendly as well and Osiana even organized a scooter for me, after I came back from my round trip after my university degree, even though I was not living in the Bagus anymore. The location is great as well if you study in the university in Denpasar. The rooms themselves are big, but they are not the best. The closets smell a bit weird and if you’re unlucky you will meet a few cockroaches. The outdoor area with the pool and the amazing gazebo make up for that. All in all, I had a great time in the Bagus and highly recommend it!

We were a group of 4 people, and actually had planned to stay here only a short while while looking for a "beautiful" villa. Eventually we ended up spending the whole semester at Bagus Jaya, which is due to several reasons. First: Bagus Jaya Residence doesn’t offer the same luxuries as a villa, but there are plenty of other advantages: Firstly, the location is perfect. There are many villas around the accommodation and a small bakery that serves western breakfast. Directly opposite Made (the mommy of the guests) has a small warung where you can get food at almost any time of the day. She also helps you with the integration and has many tips about Bali. There is a small supermarket 1 minute away, where you can find anything you need. Next door there is also a laundry, where you can get anything from shoes to shorts and caps washed for little money. It’s approximately a 35-minute drive to the campus and 10 minutes to the beach. In addition, the location is not in the most touristy part of Bali, so the price for food and drinks is not as expensive as it is for example in Kuta, Legian and Seminyak. During my stay also other students were staying here (all in all we were around 15), so there was always something going on and you got information about all upcoming parties and happenings. For hanging out there were two gazebos (roofed, wall-less huts) where you could relax with company. The staff of Bagus are super friendly. Osiana and Made, the caretakers, help whether you have a hangover or a difficult Indonesian exam. The cleaning staff take could care of the cleanliness, and you never have to worry that something goes missing from the room. All the people are absolutely trustworthy. There is also a security service. The guys will help you with parkingyour scooter, and make sure that everything is ok during the nights. The numerous cameras around also contribute to safety. The rooms are equipped with almost all the necessities, only a fan is missing, as sooner or later you will get a cold from the aircon. We bought one for ourselves for around 6 euros. Another minor drawback is the slightly slow internet. On the other hand you can find fast internet in only a few places in Bali… Those looking for a clean, well-located accommodation with a great community, and are ready to forego the idea of a rainwater shower that might come with a higher rent, will definitely be in good hands here.

I decided on the accommodation because of the great price. Never regretted my choice! Of course it depends on the room. Mine was quite big and honestly I didn’t have a single cockroach the whole 3,5 months I stayed there. Osiana the manger helps you with all kinds of problems, especially when you have to deal with something on the phone and cannot speak good enough Indonesian. I felt safe the whole time because of the security guard and surveillance cameras. There was a shop and AM right in front of the residence and Made who could cook you anything for cheap. Extremely cool people stayed at the residence! If you wanted some privacy you could always retreat into your room. All in all, highly recommended! :)
